Frequently Asked Questions.

Ombré,Nano, & Combo Brows

How Long Does Permanent Makeup Last?

Ombré Powder, Nano, & Combo Brows can last up to 3 years. They are considered a “semi-permanent” technique because of the depth we are implanting pigment into the skin. It is not the same as a regular tattoo. We are only working along the surface of the skin, which leaves you with much lighter looking results that lighten over time. Wearing SPF and having good aftercare habits will help prolong the life of your new brows.

Factors that contribute to premature fading: sun exposure, tanning beds, regular exfoliation(manual or chemical), using skin care products with active ingredients(retinols, AHA’s), and certain medical conditions.

An annual color refresh is recommended for those who have had their brows lighten more than 50%. This may not apply to everyone, and it is always recommended you wait as long as possible to have a color refresh. Color refresh pricing is for Scarlett Beauty clients only. If you have had previous work done elsewhere, please schedule a full Ombré, Nano or Combo appointment.

Does it hurt?

his is the most commonly asked question. Everyone has a different tolerance for pain. Most clients feel it is no more than a pinching or scratching sensation at first. A topical numbing gel with both lidocaine and epinephrine is used to ensure you are comfortable during the entire process. Clients have even fallen asleep once the numbing gel takes effect! Having this procedure performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort. If you are a smoker, the topical numbing gel may not last as long. Certain conditions may effect your sensitivity and decrease your tolerance for pain.

Am I a Candidate?

Ombré Powder, Nano, & Combo Brows work on ALL skin types. Whereas Microblading only works on dry skin types with smaller pores. However, oily skin with larger pores may not retain the pigment as well and may need a little more effort on both the artist and clients part. Aftercare is extremely important. Following proper aftercare will ensure that your brows will last.

Lip Blush

What is Lip Blush?

Lip Blush is a semi-permanent technique using a tattoo machine to give your lips a wash of color almost like a lip tint! With this technique, we can correct the symmetry, correct any pigmentation, and define uneven borders. It also gives the illusion of fuller, larger lips without the need for injections. Lip Blush can also help neutralize darker or cooler toned lips.

How long does it last?

Lip Blush can last up to 3 years. A touch up is included 5 weeks after your first initial procedure. Additional touch ups may be required depending on the person and look desired.

Every skin type is suitable for this technique. It is recommended that you exfoliate your lips regularly and keep them hydrated leading up to your appointment. If lips are chapped or extremely dry, the needle cannot penetrate the skin to implant the pigment properly resulting in a very patchy looking result.

Eyelash Extensions

How long do eyelash extensions last?

Eyelash extensions will last for the duration of your natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes. Depending on your aftercare and day to day activities, fill ins should only be required every 2-3 weeks.

Can I get my face wet after getting eyelash extensions?

Yes! A professional grade solution called “bonder” is used at the end of the set to help cure the glue so that you may get them wet if need be. It is a common misconception that you should avoid washing your extensions.. It is highly recommended that you wash your lashes regularly to remove dirt, debris, and makeup to help prolong the life of the extensions.

How long does the application process take?

Your appointment can take anywhere between 90-120 minutes. The amount of eyelash extensions applied will depend on how many natural lashes you have. Because of this, each set ends up looking different and taking a different amount of time. Fill ins range between 60-90 minutes.

What if I want them removed?

A removal is possible using a gel eyelash extension remover. The gel is applied and sits for 5-10 minutes. It is designed to dissolve the glue so the extensions slide off easily without breaking the natural lash. This is a short 30 minute appointment.
